Beth - German Shepherd Dog and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Wichita, Kansas

Beth is a beautiful German Shepherd, Border Collie, and Australian Shepherd mix with the brains, loyalty, and herding instincts you'd expect from those breeds. She is incredibly smart, eager to please, and very connected to her person. At the end of the day, her favorite place is right beside you on the couch.

Beth is fully house trained and kennel trained. She goes into her kennel when asked, waits patiently to be invited out, sits on command, and takes treats very gently. She learns quickly and is wonderfully obedient, but she is also a sensitive girl who responds best to patient, positive guidance.

She does well with other dogs, although her herding instincts can kick in and she may chase or nip at them in an attempt to herd. On walks, she may pull a little but generally pays no attention to other dogs she passes.

Beth has not lived with children, but respectful children who understand a dog's boundaries may be a good fit. Because she loves to chase and becomes very focused on cats she sees outside, a cat-free home would be best.

A home with a secure yard where she can run, play, and patrol for squirrels would make Beth very happy. She loves her toys, but more than anything, she loves being with her person.

Beth does have some allergies and currently receives two allergy chews daily. Chicken and eggs cause her to itch, so her diet needs to avoid those ingredients. She was previously treated for heartworms and now tests negative.

Beth is a sweet, intelligent, loyal girl who truly wants to please. For someone looking for a devoted companion who will happily play outside and then curl up beside them on the couch, Beth is incredibly easy to love.
