ADOPT SODA
After surviving unimaginable injuries and time alone on the streets, Soda is now safe, healing, and showing us more of his personality every day. Despite everything Soda has been through, this sweet boy is full of love.
Soda has a unique appearance, including missing part of his nose, but we think it only makes him even cuter. His little face tells a story of survival and the true resilience of dogs.
Soda is visually impaired, but nobody told him that. He loves to run, play, and wrestle with the other dogs, and he approaches life with so much joy and determination. He is also incredibly smart and would thrive in a home that will challenge his brain, continue his training, and keep him active. Bonus he is great with cats and would do great in a house with kids.
Because Soda likely had to survive by scavenging, he does still have some “street dog” habits when it comes to food. The upside? He is very treat motivated, which has made him eager to learn basic commands and work for rewards. He is mostly potty trained and will go to the back door when he needs to go out. We are also starting bell training with him.
Soda does have some separation anxiety and will need a patient adopter who can continue working with him. While we are working on crate training, Soda has made it pretty clear that, if he had his way, he would prefer to never see that thing again. Because of this and his energy levels, he would do best in a home where someone is not gone for extended periods of time.
Soda has been through more than any dog should, but he is not defined by what happened to him. He is loving, playful, smart, resilient, and ready for someone who will help him continue learning that the world can be safe, kind, and full of good things.
