Chester has not lived the life he was born to live.
Instead he lived a life of neglect, barely surviving outside in someones backyard, wind, heat, cold, storms...flys eating his ears and face...waiting
When I met Chester at the shelter he wasn't barking, he didn't jump up when I walked up, he was just quietly sitting in the corner. He didn't expect anyone to pay attention to him, he had made peace with this life that he was given.
I was not gonna let that be all he'd ever known. I promised him that there's a better life , one where someone is grateful to be in the presence of such a beautiful and kind soul! He was a little unsure getting in my car. He sat quietly the whole drive home. He was a little nervous getting out, I took him for a walk on the Ranch, he walks nicely right beside you. I made him his bed in his kennel, showed him the doggy door and got him his food.
I'm telling you this because I have never met a dog so grateful for such simple things as air conditioning, a soft bed and food. Chester is incredibly sweet and so thankful. But I know there is yet a better place waiting for him where he can learn what love is.
Chesters forever home can have other dogs as long as they are respectful. He gets along well and is not aggressive at all but easily intimidated by loud and wild dogs.
He's fantastic at using his doggy door and he has gotten comfortable getting in and out of the car too.
Chester enjoys walks or sniff time in the yard, overall he would prefer a calm lifestyle and exercise is secondary.
If you have a calm home and extra love to give to my thankful boy Chester please fill out our application or text or call with questions
Thank you
