Geordi may look like a German Shepherd, but his foster is convinced there is some Golden Retriever in the mix, and his personality backs her up. He is gentle, affectionate, smart, and eager to please. He seems to love every person he meets, men and women alike.
Geordi is a low to medium energy guy who still has his playful spurts. He walks nicely on leash, settles well in his crate, and responds beautifully to firm but gentle guidance. When he gets excited he occasionally jumps up, and his foster is working with him on keeping four paws on the floor. His sweet nature and willingness to learn would make him a wonderful first dog.
With other dogs, Geordi does best with calm, respectful companions, male or female. He has made fast friends with the mellow dogs in his foster home, but he prefers to keep his distance from dogs who are high energy and in his face. He knows what he is comfortable with, and he lets you know it.
Because Geordi is a sensitive soul, a lot of noise and activity can make him nervous. He would be happiest in a calm, quiet home with no children or older kids only. What he loves most is being outside, so an active empty nester or another quiet adult household that enjoys daily walks would be his perfect match.
