Louie - German Shepherd Dog Dog for Adoption in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota

This big guy is a 2-year-old, 83-pound German Shepherd mix who sadly came to the shelter when his owners could not bring him along in a move. He's a big cuddle bug who takes just a moment to warm up to people before he loves them with his whole heart. He happily sits for a treat, loves squeaky toys, and can't get enough time outside in the fresh air.

Louie's previous owners noted that he does well with children and loves to play with them. He grew up with his littermate and was great friends with them. However, he is quite reactive to other dogs here at the shelter. He would need to have a very slow meet and greet with any potential dog siblings to make sure they're a good fit.

Since Louie loves the fresh air so much, he spent a lot of his time outdoors in his previous home, and he would love a yard or a family where he can be out in nature often. His previous owners reported that he is potty trained, but he has had a few accidents here at the shelter. Once he's back in a regular routine, we think he'll get the hang of things again!

Louie is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccines. You can visit him at the shelter Tuesdays through Saturdays from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM or Sundays from 12:00 to 5:00 PM.
