Meet Malouk

Malouk is a 12-year-old, 85 lb German Shepherd with a gentle soul, a loving heart, and so much quiet companionship to give.

He came to us as an owner surrender after his person passed away. Over the following year, he wasnt getting the care he needed, so he was surrendered to give him a chance at the safe, loving life he deserves. Now, hes ready to find a home where he can truly be cared for and cherished.

This sweet senior is blind, but dont let that fool you he navigates life with resilience and still enjoys the simple things he loves most: walks, naps, and treats (lots of treats!). Every now and then, he even gets a little playful spark.

Malouk thrives in a calm, low-key home where he can feel safe and settled. He would be perfectly happy as an only pet, but he also does well with calm, respectful dogs and even cats who understand he spooks easily due to being blind.

He is incredibly friendly with people and has a soft spot for kids, making him a wonderful, gentle presence in the right family.

Because of his blindness, Malouk can experience some anxiety, but he does very well with calming medication and a consistent environment. He finds comfort in his crate and does best when crated while alone.

He is potty trained but will also need continued leash training, as he can pull especially when he's excited or unsure.
