ADOPTION OF A PUPPY UNDER 9 MONTHS OF AGE

The dog you are interested in is a puppy (under a year old). We have criteria for our adoptions of puppies. Puppies are adopted on a foster-to-adopt basis until the puppy is old enough to be neutered/spayed (we prefer them to be no younger than 7 months for females and 9 months for males). Houses with pools must demonstrate that puppies can be protected from the pool with fencing or a cover. Home visits for shots will be required, so puppies are adopted to homes in Maricopa County only. Puppies often have multiple potential adopters, so SPR evaluates what home is best matched with any given puppy and their expected home needs once they have grown.


Meet Felix!

Felix is a 3-month-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with a sweet personality, a sharp mind, and a heart full of love. His mom is a German Shepherd, and his dad is a German Shepherd/Husky mix, giving him the perfect blend of intelligence, loyalty, and curiosity.

Felix is a happy, affectionate puppy who loves being with people. He enjoys pets, belly rubs, and any attention he can get. He is naturally curious and loves investigating new sights, sounds, and experiences.

This handsome boy is already making great progress in his foster home. He gets along well with other dogs, has done wonderfully with an 8-year-old child, and has been friendly and well-mannered with visitors. Felix also has excellent body tolerance, allowing his feet, ears, and mouth to be handled with ease, which will make grooming and veterinary visits much easier as he grows.

Felix is proving to be a very smart puppy. He is learning how to sit, comes when called by name, and is working hard on becoming the best boy possible. His leash training is going well both around the house and in the backyard.

House training has been a huge success. Felix has learned to walk on leash to his designated potty area and consistently uses the same spot. He has only had one accident in the house and is quickly learning the "potty outside" routine. He is comfortable in his crate, sleeps through the night, and has settled nicely into a daily routine.

When it's time to play, Felix loves chasing a ball down the hallway and enjoying all the fun that comes with being a puppy.
