Meet Zed, the gentle giant in training with a heart every bit as big as the paws he's growing into!
This handsome German Shepherd/Labrador Retriever mix puppy is impossible not to love. With his striking black coat, warm tan markings, adorable white chest patch, and one little white sock that looks like he dressed up for the occasion, Zed has a look that's every bit as sweet as his personality!
While some puppies burst into a room ready to make friends with everyone, Zed prefers to take a moment to observe. He's a thoughtful boy who can be a little timid at first, but not for long. Once he realizes he's safe, his affectionate and playful side begins to shine. Beneath that reserved exterior is a puppy who loves being close to his people and enjoys every bit of attention that comes his way!
Zed has a wonderfully balanced personality. He loves playing with his siblings, exploring his surroundings, and joining in on the fun, but he's equally content entertaining himself or relaxing nearby. He's the kind of puppy who enjoys companionship without needing to be the center of attention every second of the day.
Like the rest of his litter, Zed thrives on routine. He's adapted beautifully to a structured schedule that includes regular feeding times, play sessions, crate time, and plenty of rest. He currently eats 23 meals a day, sleeps well through the night, and is making great progress with both pee pad training and crate training!
Zed has been exposed to children and does wonderfully with them. He's comfortable around the adults in his foster home and gets along well with the resident adult German Shepherd. He's also been introduced to cats and can comfortably share space with them, though he's still figuring out exactly what he thinks about these mysterious little creatures.
What makes Zed especially lovable is his calm, easygoing nature. He tends to go with the flow, adapts well to new routines, and brings a peaceful presence wherever he goes.
Once he's comfortable, he'll happily play, cuddle, and stay close by your side, but he also has the confidence to enjoy a little independence when needed.
Like all puppies, Zed will need patience, consistency, and continued training as he grows. In return, you'll gain a loyal companion with a gentle spirit, a loving heart, and all the makings of an incredible family dog!
If you're searching for a puppy who is equal parts sweet, steady, playful, and affectionate, Zed may just be the perfect addition to your family!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap ranging from $100 - $1,000+ per dog.
