Trip — He Got His Wheelchair and Has Not Slowed Down Since.
Trip is about five years old, paralyzed from the waist down, and completely unbothered. He got his wheelchair, took to it like he had been using it his whole life, and has been cruising around with the same goofy, happy energy ever since. He did not need time to adjust. He simply figured out today and got moving.
He is gentle, affectionate, patient, and one of the sweetest dogs we have had the pleasure of knowing. His injury has not touched his personality — he is fully, completely himself, and spending time with him has a way of putting everything else in perspective.
Caring for a paralyzed dog may sound like a lot, but Trip's adopter will not be doing it alone. The wheelchair, medical care, supplies, and ongoing support are all provided. What Trip needs from his person is presence, patience, and love — and he will give back everything he has in return.
He is not asking for sympathy. He is asking for a home. There is a big difference, and Trip knows it.
Adoption is $275, which includes spay/neuter at our vet, vaccines, dewormer, microchip, and clean bill of health. Although we work to potty train all of our dogs, we cannot guarantee full house training before adoption. Regression is a normal part of transitioning to a new home.
