Saka is a handsome 15-month-old, 55-pound German Shepherd, Husky, and Pit Bull mix with a wonderfully sweet disposition. He loves everyone he meets, happily welcomes pets, and settles in nicely for cuddle time. With his tan coat and handsome black-and-white markings, Saka is as lovely on the outside as he is on the inside.

Although still a young dog, Saka is well-adjusted, affectionate, and balanced in temperament. He enjoys two daily walks, exploring the world around him, playing fetch and tug, and spending time with other dogs. He has attended weekly trainer-led playgroups and has excellent dog social skills, playing appropriately without aggression. He also enjoys relaxing with his people and is happy to retreat to his crate, where he sleeps at night and stays comfortably for several hours during the day.

Saka is a smart boy who already knows several commands, including sit, down, come, twist, and go to your crate. His family has invested in more than a dozen private training sessions, giving him a wonderful foundation to build on. He is friendly with people and has done well with children, although he has not been around very young children. He tolerates handling extremely well and has no known bite history or resource guarding.

Saka does have a strong prey drive and wants to chase cats, squirrels, birds, and other small animals. Although he currently lives with cats, a cat-free home would be the best fit unless the resident cats are confident, dog-savvy, and can be safely separated. He would also benefit from a secure yard and continued guidance, as he may dig or chew household items when left alone.

Sadly, Saka’s family is separating, and their new living arrangements cannot accommodate him. This is a heartbreaking change for a dog who is loved and has so much to offer. Saka deserves a family who will welcome him into their lives, continue his training, and give him the exercise, affection, and companionship he needs to thrive.
