The Little Frenchie That Could
Meet Louie, a sweet French Bulldog who is just under 4 years old and has already been through more than most dogs ever should.
Louie came to us from a municipal shelter, after living with paralysis for more than six months. After advanced imaging and a consultation with a neurosurgeon, we learned that surgery was unlikely to restore his mobility. We continue to support him with physical therapy and treatment, but the reality is that Louie will likely remain paralyzed for the rest of his life.
Louie, however, didn't get that memo.
This 25-pound little guy is learning to cruise around on wheels and continues to show us every day just how resilient he is. Animal A.I.D. will provide his adopter with a custom-made wheelchair fitted specifically for Louie, so he'll be ready to roll into his new life.
Despite everything he's been through, Louie is one of the sweetest, most loving and easygoing dogs you could ever meet. He loves his people, but Louie also LOVES to play with dogs his size. Because canine companionship is such an important part of his happiness, Louie must have another similar size female dog in his forever home to be his companion and playmate.
Because of his paralysis, he does not have full control of his potty habits and wears a diaper. The good news is that his routine is very manageable, and well make sure his adopter understands his care and knows exactly what to expect.
Louie would do best in a home without stairs and is perfectly content being carried when needed. More than anything, he is happiest curled up beside someone who loves him.
His legs may not work the way they once did, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with his heart.
We're looking for someone who can look past his disability and see the incredible, deserving dog behind it and help him thrive with what he can do!

IMPORTANT ADOPTION INFORMATION
The dog you are considering is located in South Mississippi, with transport available (for an additional fee) to approved adopters in the Northeast. Virtual meet-and-greets are performed prior to adoption.
Completing an application is the only way to receive a response from our small rescue team.
Submitting an application does NOT commit you to adoption—it simply begins the conversation about whether this dog is the right fit for your family.
