Thumbelina is a 5 year old French Bulldog who is learning that life can be safe and kind again. After her owner left her behind with a neighbor and never returned, she ended up sitting in a cage at animal control. We couldn’t leave her there, so she’s now safe with our rescue and getting fully vetted.
This sweet little girl is good with other dogs, rides nicely in the car, and walks well on a leash. She’s also a huge foodie and gets adorably excited for meals and treats. Once she feels comfortable, her playful and loving personality starts to shine through.
Thumbelina does take a little time to trust new people. She isn’t a dog who wants a lot of handling right away and prefers to warm up at her own pace. Because of that, we think she would do best in a quiet adult-only home with people who will give her patience and understanding.
When she first came into rescue, Thumbelina was extremely stressed and had a few seizures during that adjustment period. Since settling in, we haven’t seen any additional seizures. We are monitoring her closely with our veterinary team to determine whether seizure medication will be needed long term and will update her profile as we learn more.
Thumbelina has been through a lot, but she deserves the chance to finally feel safe, loved, and home for good.
