DESCRIPTION
Fluffy Frenchie?
The Frenchies have made it to the number one dog in America and now they are showing up in shelters across Louisiana.
Maui is a 2 year old Frenchie and weighs about 20 lbs but could gain some weight. Frenchies are notorious for health problems. Eventhough Maui does not have any issues we are aware of right now that doesn't mean something couldn't occur as he gets older.
His former family failed him in several ways. He was found as a stray and not microchipped. He also has heartworms from not being kept on heartworm prevention consistently. We are treating him with the slow kill / gentle method as he is a young dog and it is recommended by our vet.
He could need fast kill treatment and that cost should be considered before adopting. In addition, Frenchie can have health issues and that cost should also be considered prior to adopting.
He seems house trained but he does utilize a kennel when his foster isn't home and at night. He is definitely kennel trained and knows the word kennel.
If you're interested in providing an exceptional home to one of our pups, please complete our adoption application.
