Meet Oatie!
If you're looking for a Frenchie who can keep up with your adventures but is equally happy melting into the couch with you, Oatie might be your guy!
Oatie is an OG, traditionalFrenchie with long legs, a tall frame, and just enough teenage-level clumsiness to make him ridiculously cute.
He is an incredibly fun dog who loves people more than pretty much anything else.

His foster family thinks he would be fantastic for a family looking for their ride-or-die companion.
Don't worry, he's also great as a playmate!
Oatie and his foster brother have developed their own little wrestling routine, complete with Oatie's signature jiujitsu kicks. Once they've burned off their energy, they're perfectly content to retreat to opposite ends of the couch and take a nap.
Oatie, like any dog who has known what it TRULY is to be hungry, does say NO THANK YOU to sharing any of HIS important things.
So, he will need a family that truly understands what it's like to keep high-value goodies put up and out of the way of doggos when they are together, and who will always understand that doggos should be fed separately.
And, honestly, Oatie will be THRILLED to be the king of his castle and not have to share HIS home, humans, or STUFF with another dog.
So, he can happily skip the wrestling altogether and settle for some love (and all that attention that fills up his cup). The loving will always win.
Despite being a young, goofy Frenchie, Oatie has a wonderfully chill energy. He loves his couch, loves being around his people, and doesn't need entertainment every second of the day.
Oatie is picking up the whole 'indoor, loved, & valued' thing and is acing potty training.
His furever family will have to be willing to continue showing him the kindness, love, patience, and support that come with welcoming a rescue dog into their hearts and home.
We think Oatie would be happiest with a family who will let him be part of the action, give him plenty of love and attention, and most importantly, let this boy live his best couch life.
French Bulldogs are not low-maintenance dogs
They require patience with training and daily mental and physical engagement, especially when they're young.
They are playful, opinionated, and full of energy, not couch ornaments.
Frenchies thrive in homes that understand the breed and are ready for the commitment.
Additionally, although SUPER cute and so yummy & silly, most of our dogs have come from yucky backyard greeders and so, will 100% need to have owners committed to their unique long-term care, health, and wellbeing.
Here are just a couple of things that we need to ensure every French Bulldog adopter understands and is comfortable with.
- All Frenchies MUST HAVE A FULL-SERVICE vet and at MINIMUM an ANNUAL vet appointment. Big-box store vets or mobile/discount shot services are just not going to cut it.
- Here's the BIG ONE: thanks to their breeding, ALL Frenchie parents have to be ready to manage and IMMEDIATELY treat an episode of IVDD:IVDD 411
- All Frenchie parents must be willing to make the time for daily maintenance and grooming: our Frenchies love their spa time and need (at minimum) all of those folds and crevices cleaned that make them so dang cute. It's a sign of your commitment and care.
- Bulldog adopters have to be willing to administer eye drops; all those folds make for grumpy eyelids.
- Last but not least, all lucky bulldog parents should expect to manage the ongoing cost of all the goodies associated with loving a bulldog: including but not limited to: high-quality food, eye drops, medicated shampoo, monthly heartworm prevention, fun toys, vet care, and endless scritches and cuddles (This last one is free)
PHEW - that's a list, but these guys are so worth it. Your commitment will be rewarded with the love and joy these Frenchies bring into your life.
