England is a young, active guy with a huge personality and an even bigger love for toys. Whether he is carrying toys proudly on his walks, or zooming around outside with his favorite dog walkers, this boy is always ready for his next adventure. England absolutely thrives outdoors and would love a home that can keep up with his energy, enthusiasm, and zest for life.

England especially loves stuffed animals and could happily spend hours carrying them around or tossing them in the air under supervision. One of his favorite games is playing "keep away" with the staff, proudly prancing around with his treasures while trying to avoid giving them back. Because he enjoys toys a little too much at times, stuffed animals should always be supervised, as England has been known to ingest parts of them if left to his own devices.

England came to BENCHS as a rural unclaimed stray in heartbreaking condition. When he first arrived, he was incredibly emaciated and sickly, weighing only 47 pounds. He required a careful re-feeding schedule and close monitoring as he slowly regained his strength and health. Today, England is thriving at a healthy 68 pounds, and watching his transformation has been incredible for everyone who has cared for him.

While England may look more grown up now, he is very much still a teenager at heart. He is strong on leash, full of energy, and can be quite enthusiastic during walks, so he will need a confident handler who can continue working with him on manners and structure. England would likely do best in an active indoor home committed to giving him both physical exercise and mental enrichment.

At this time, we are unsure how England does with cats or other dogs. What we do know is that he absolutely adores people, outdoor time, and toys. After everything he has overcome, England is more than ready to find a family who will continue helping him grow into the amazing dog we know he can be.
