Jake - Feist Dog for Adoption in Latrobe, Pennsylvania

Jake is a 2 year old male Mt. Feist mix who arrived at AFA as a shelter transfer.
Jake is a fun loving, adventurous and energetic boy. He loves outdoor time and getting to burn off energy. He enjoys going for walks and is learning how to behave on a leash- he gets really excited for his walks and tends to pull a bit trying to explore everything all at once. He needs someone who will be committed to helping him learn leash manners and all the good boy behaviors so he can reach his full potential. He seems very smart and eager to learn and please his humans!
Jake loves people and has an abundance of love and affection to pour out to whomever his forever family is. Given the proper exercise and playtime, and plenty of snuggles afterwards, Jake has the potential to be an amazing sidekick. Not to mention turning heads with his handsome looks and charm!

Adoption/Visiting Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, Noon-4pm
You may visit our cats, kittens, dogs and puppies over the age of 4 months old during adoption hours prior to completing an adoption application. You must fill out an adoption application and be approved before visiting with puppies aged 4 months old and younger.

Applying for Adoption:

Fill out an adoption application in person at the shelter during adoption hours. We do not offer adoption applications online. If you live at a distance (1-1/2+ hour away), you can call us at 724-539-2544 to complete an adoption application by phone. Calls are returned within 48 hours.

Bring the following pertinent documents with you:

Pet Owners: Vet records of all your current pets.

Homeowners: Proof of home ownership – a property tax or mortgage document. Utility bills are not accepted.

Renters: Landlord’s phone number and copy of your lease. We must speak to your landlord to be considered for adoption.

Valid ID: You must be 21 years or older.

Dog Owners:

If you currently have dogs at your home, we require a meet and greet with the shelter dog you are interested in. You must have an approved adoption application before the meet and greet.

The adoption will be finalized after all required information is confirmed and your adoption application is approved.
