This fun-loving girl has plenty of energy and loves spending time with her people. Her favorite activities include running around the yard, playing fetch, and a good game of tug-of-war. According to her previous owner, Hayzel gets along well with both male and female dogs, enjoys the company of adults and older children, and is comfortable meeting new people and attending social gatherings. She can be left home alone and does well during veterinary visits. She does pull on the leash during walks, so continued leash training will help her become an even better walking companion.
Her previous owner shared that there was one incident in which Hayzel nipped their 11-year-old child after the child unexpectedly ran up to her while she was sleeping, startling her awake. This was reported to be an isolated incident, and there have been no other concerns. As with any dog, it's important to teach children to respect a dog's space, especially when they are resting.
Hayzel is not a huge fan of car rides, so a family that doesn't require frequent travel would be an ideal match.
