At just 1 year old and a petite 37 pounds, Mabel is still very much a puppy at heart. This sweet, gentle girl was found running as a stray in Illinois, and despite every effort to locate her family, no one came looking for her. Their loss is truly someone else's gain.

Now safe in foster care, Mabel is blossoming into the wonderful dog she was always meant to be. She is incredibly sweet, smart, and gets along beautifully with other dogs. Her foster dad and canine friends have helped show her that people can be trusted and that life can be filled with comfort, love, and fun.

Mabel is discovering all the little joys of being a cherished family member—soft beds, air conditioning, toys, delicious meals, afternoon naps, and plenty of affection. Her favorite activity is racing around the fenced yard with her canine siblings, followed by a well-earned cuddle session with her foster dad.

Because of her history as a stray, Mabel can still be a bit of a flight risk. She will do best in a home with a securely fenced yard and a confident canine companion to help guide her as she continues to build confidence and settle into family life.

Mabel is looking for a patient, loving family that will continue showing her just how wonderful life can be. In return, she'll bring endless sweetness, companionship, and gratitude to the lucky people who welcome her home.

Mabel will be spayed as part of her adoption.
