Kojo is a sweet 6-year-old, 12-pound dachshund looking for his forever home.
After his person became ill and could no longer care for him, Kojo’s world changed suddenly. He’s now safe in foster care and ready for his next chapter.
Kojo is fully vetted and recently had 12 teeth removed—but his appetite hasn’t missed a beat! A little warm water in his kibble does the trick.
Kojo is affectionate and loves being close to his people (especially snuggling in bed!), but he’ll need a patient, consistent home to help him continue building confidence. He can be shy and barky around unfamiliar people, dogs and sounds, and he’s still working on potty training. A predictable routine and belly band help him succeed.
He can be crated for short periods and has been left alone for about 3 hours. Kojo can also be a little escape artist, so extra care around open doors is important!
Most of all, Kojo needs someone who understands that he’s been through a lot of change and is willing to give him the time and security he needs to settle in.
