Sandy - Dachshund and Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Tishomingo, Oklahoma

Sandy is ready to travel to a community that will truly cherish her as a family member. She is currently in Oklahoma at our rescue. Because we want her transition to be as smooth as possible, we arrange direct-to-adopter transport to specific cities (listed below!).

Adoptions are finalized in advance so that Sandy can hop off the transport and right into your waiting arms. We stand by our pups for life. In the rare event it isn't a perfect match, Sandy is never without a safety net; she will simply return to our care in Oklahoma on the next available transport until her perfect home is found.

Meet Sandy!
Age: 8 months old (Birthday: February 27, 2026)
Gender: Female
Breed Mix: Possible Chiweenie Mix
Size: Estimated to grow to medium-sized (currently around 25 lbs)

Sandy is an adorable, fun-loving young pup looking for her loving forever family! She and her siblings came to us after we helped get their mom and dad fixed, and she’s ready to bring so much joy into a new home.

Personality & Traits:
The Social Butterfly: Sandy holds the crown as the most outgoing of her entire litter! While she can still show a tiny bit of initial timidness with brand-new people—as many young pups do—she quickly bounces out of her shell and shows off her cheerful, happy-go-lucky personality. You can see the difference in how much she's come out of her shell in the videos below.
Her sister and brother have been adopted and their new families say that they are both velcro dogs and love to snuggle.
Irresistible Low-Rider Build: Just like her siblings, Sandy has that hugely popular "low-rider" look with her cute short legs and sweet frame that instantly captures everyone's attention!
Great with Other Dogs: Sandy absolutely loves canine companionship. She is currently kenneled with her sibling, and they happily share their space, food, and water without any issues.
Cats & Felines: Sandy has not been formally tested living indoors with cats, but she is exposed to the outdoor cats roaming around our rescue grounds. Like most young dogs, she should do just fine with cats as long as she is taught proper manners and boundaries—which are usually promptly set by the cat!
Ideal Home: Though she’s the leader of the pack in confidence among her siblings, a patient home willing to guide her through normal puppyhood is best.

Because she can have a moment of initial timidness when meeting new friends, a home with children aged 5 and up would likely be the best fit.

If you’re looking for a sweet, outgoing "low-rider" girl to add to your family, Sandy is ready to wiggle her way into your heart!
