DESCRIPTION

"Tripawd," the pup who proves that courage comes in all packages! I'm Bogey, an 8 pound, 5 1/2 year old miniature Dachshund. Life has thrown me a few curveballs, but you'd never know it by the way I wag my tail. As a puppy, I injured one of my front legs, but unfortunately, my original family wasn't able to get me the medical care I needed. The leg became floppy, unusable, and a little painful. Thankfully, Dr. Beth took wonderful care of me and amputated it while I was being neutered so I wouldn't have to deal with arthritis or other problems down the road. I healed beautifully, and honestly, I've been getting around on three good legs for most of my life anyway. These days, I run, play, and explore just like any other happy pup! I'm still polishing up my house-training skills, but I'm making great progress. I'm already a pro on a leash and in my crate, and I really appreciate having a cozy space that's all mine. Speaking of cozy...I have a confession. I'm absolutely obsessed with cave-style beds! I'll burrow all the way inside until the only thing sticking out is my little nose. I'm a sweet, gentle guy who loves treats and enjoys being with my people. I get along well with other dogs and older children. I tend to feel more comfortable around women at first, and I may need a little time to warm up in a new place. Once I know I'm safe, though, my goofy, affectionate personality really shines. I've even gone to work with my foster, and everyone says I did an amazing job! I enjoy being included and am happiest when I'm close to my person. Because of that, I'd love a home with someone who's retired or works from home so we can spend lots of time together. If you're looking for a loyal best friend who has already proven that a little resilience goes a long way, I just might be your perfect match. Three legs, one huge heart, and enough love to last a lifetime—that's me, and I can't wait to meet you.

My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip! If you're interested in meeting/adopting me, please visit www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/ and fill out the form! We do adopt out of state with vet references and video home check. *Adopter is responsible for coming to get the dog and returning the dog if the adoption does not work out*

ABOUT: MIXED BREED DOG BREED

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity.
