Meet Betsy! She is approximately 1 year old, 19 lbs currently and she may have some Dachshund in her mix! In her foster home, she is working hard on her house training, crate training and does not have experience yet leash walking. She could join households with other dogs, dog-savvy cats, and older dog-savvy kids.
She is still pretty shy and learning to trust new people! No apartments, please.
Her foster says, "Betsy is a super sweet and loving girl. She loves belly rubs and neck scratches and giving lots of kisses!! She goes everywhere I go but is also independent. Betsy has been living with 5 larger dogs and is BFFs with 2.
She loooves to play, run, and wrestle with them, then it's time for a long snooze on the couch. She sleeps with us, but does do well in a crate at night too. She is treat motivated and really enjoys her ball and toys. Betsie is not a big chewer, but be mindful of where you leave your shoes! She potties outside, and uses puppy pads indoors. She is timid when you go towards her to get her. I usually coax her to the sofa and then pick her up. We are working on trust in this area and I'm sure she will get past this. Betsy is a smart girl!! She is so very sweet. She loves her person, and cozing up next to them. She has been a joy to foster!"
She is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on September 11 or possibly earlier. Please fill out an application on our website at https://www.browndogcoalition.com/adoptable as a first step.
