Kolt is a funny 3-month-old who weighs only 4 pounds. His mother is an 11# long-haired dachshund mix. We don't know who dad is, but likely a chihuahua. He loves his "cave bed" or to burrow under pillows, etc. when it's nap time (although he'd rather cuddle with you). He loves to cuddle, when he's not busy playing and growling at toys. He is fearless, except when there is a scary noise, then it's time to run to mom. He has already taught himself how to use the dog door but hasn't yet figured that outside is where he should potty. He's making progress though. He is a lot of fun, but doesn't like to be alone, so would do best in a home where he does not spend a lot of time alone.

Please understand you are committing to providing a good home for his entire life (up to 15+ years or more) - not just until his puppy cuteness wears off.

You must be committed to housebreaking, age-appropriate enrichment and exercise, leash training, grooming needs, and positive socialization. Like most puppies, he may chew on anything within his reach to include but not limited to baseboards, shoes, socks, children's toys, electrical cords, plants, etc.

His adoption fee is $250. This includes his neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, Nobivac® Canine 1-DAPP vaccinations, Bravecto®, Drontal® Plus, Tri-Heart® Plus Chewable Tablet, 24PetWatch® microchip, and leash and collar.

Please ensure your application is complete before submitting. We do verify property ownership, landlord references, apartment/HOA restrictions, veterinary references, and criminal histories.

Our adoption events are held each Saturday at Petco located in the Northwoods Shopping Center at 18138 San Pedro Ave, San Antonio TX 78232. Event hours are 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

SASPCA Homeward Bound Dog Rescue and San Antonio Great Dane Rescue are 501(c)(3) foster-based rescue groups based in San Antonio, Texas.

Our group focuses on assisting open admission shelters in South Texas where over 32,000 dogs and cats are euthanized each year.

Our puppies and dogs are completely vetted and live in foster homes. They are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and tested for heartworm disease.

All adoptions include one month of flea and heartworm preventative and a leash and collar.

If your adoption application is approved and you are traveling from out-of-town, we hold your chosen pet for one hour past the event start time to allow for travel time.

We are an all-volunteer organization and do not currently have the resources to process out-of-state adoptions.

Our puppies, purebred dogs, and small breed dogs do get adopted quickly so we encourage interested parties to apply online.
