Scooter - Dachshund and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Fresno, California

Meet Scooter!

Say hello to **Scooter**, a sweet senior gentleman with the most precious face and a heart just waiting for someone special to love!

Scooter is a shy and gentle boy who may need a little extra time to feel comfortable around new people. He can be nervous in unfamiliar situations, but underneath that timid exterior is a sweet soul who deserves all the love and kindness in the world.

This handsome senior is looking for a **patient, understanding family** who will allow him to settle in at his own pace. A quieter, peaceful home would be ideal for Scooter, where he can feel safe, build trust, and enjoy his golden years without feeling overwhelmed.

Scooter doesn't need someone to rush him or expect him to be outgoing right away. He simply needs someone willing to give him the time, reassurance, and gentle encouragement he deserves. Sometimes the most special bonds are the ones that take a little extra time to build!

**Senior dogs deserve just as much love and happiness as any other pup, and Scooter is no exception!** He is hoping to find a forever family who will see past his shyness and give him the second chance he deserves.

**Could you be Scooter's safe place? Come meet this sweet senior boy and help him find the loving forever home he's been waiting for!**

The dachshund is a small dog breed known for its long body, short legs, and distinctive appearance. Originally bred for hunting badgers, these playful and loyal dogs make loving companions for families. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired each with its own unique charm. Despite their size, dachshunds are bold and courageous, with a curious nature that can sometimes lead to mischief. Their endearing personality and adaptability make them popular pets worldwide.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
