Oscar - Dachshund Dog for Adoption in Austin, Texas

Oscar and his siblings were found in a box in a store parking lot. A kind person in the community saw them and asked if we could help. Oscar is now in a foster home, and he is a very good little boy. He has completed his veterinary care, so he is ready to find his forever person.

Oscar is an affectionate little guy, and he will be a great puppy to raise. He likes walks, pets and playing with puppy toys. He does great with other dogs of any age and size. He is also cat friendly and is currently living with a cat. He loves kids and has been with children as young as 5. He is crate trained and almost house trained.

Oscar is 5 months old and weighs 17 pounds. We think he is a Dachshund mix. He is neutered, vaccinated for rabies, DHPP and Bordetella. He is also microchipped, heartworm negative and is current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Oscar can arrive in Chester, VA on 10/24. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the application found here: https://throwadogabone.org/adopt.

The dachshund is a small dog breed known for its long body, short legs, and distinctive appearance. Originally bred for hunting badgers, these playful and loyal dogs make loving companions for families. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired each with its own unique charm. Despite their size, dachshunds are bold and courageous, with a curious nature that can sometimes lead to mischief. Their endearing personality and adaptability make them popular pets worldwide.
