Meet SHADOW!

Shadow is 45 lbs and approximately 5.5 years old as of June 2026.

***She is currently in Newburgh, NY and ready for meet and greets with potential adopters!***

While we do not now her breed, we know she's a mix of many, likely Lab and Corgi (based on looks alone) among others! She has an adorable little body which is long and sturdy. She has short little legs and is a low-rider!

Shadow is one of those rare dogs that checks ALL the boxes. Anyone would be so lucky to make her a part of their family! Truly, she is a GEM! She has an almost endless list of attributes!

Shadow has a 10/10 personality. She is WONDERFUL with everyone she meets. She has a little sparkle in her eye. She has a playful and at times silly personality and she's very human oriented; she LOVES people and aims to please. She is both a gentle yet silly/playful and dog and has a very balanced personality!

She is very cuddly and loves scratches, belly rubs, pets - you name it!

While she enjoys being outside during her walks and meeting new people and dogs along the way, she is also a very chill dog who equally loves hanging out at home with her family. She will happily sit by your feet if you are working from home or chilling out watching movies.

She is great with children of all ages and has spent time with young children too.

She walks excellently on a leash. She enjoys meeting new people and dogs on her walks and excitedly greets other dogs. She is always happy and friendly with everyone she meets!

Shadow is a trusted dog who is fine being left alone at home. Currently, she is home all day from 7:30am to 4:30pm (uncrated) and is fine. While we know she would appreciate more time with her owners, she has zero separation anxiety and has never gotten into things or destroyed anything. She is chill!

She sleeps very well throughout the night, sleeping next to her owner in her own bed (her owner has allergies, otherwise know she wouldn't object to being in a human bed!).

She is 100% house trained and has no accidents while her owner is away during the day. When he gets home, he takes her out and she does all her business outside. He doesn't use wee wee pads with her and she has never had an interest in using them either.

She has been around cats before and had no interest in them.

She is fully up to date on vaccinations, spayed, heartworm negative and fecal negative. She is a healthy and happy girl!

HER STORY: Shadow unfortunately is being rehomed due to unforeseen circumstances that are no fault of her own! Her human parents broke up and neither of them are able to take her into their new living situation. Shadow's dad asked us for help to rehome her (he is a family member of a trusted foster of ours). He works and travels a lot and did not think it was fair to leave Shadow at home alone all day or with family for periods of time anymore. He loves her so much and wants the best for her and so do we! He says she is truly the best dog ever and couldn't imagine her going to a shelter.
