PEANUT BUTTER - Yellow Labrador Retriever and Shepherd Dog for Adoption

Meet PEANUT BUTTER (aka PEANUT)!

Peanut is 6 lbs and 2.5 months old as of early June 2026.

Peanut is a happy, affectionate, and playful puppy! His personality is a great balanced mix of typical puppy but more on the reserved side of the scale. He is calmer and more observant as puppies go!

He is wonderful with other animals. He is currently living in a home with an adult dog and his sibling, Jelly Belly, as well as 2 cats and is good with them all.

Energy-wise, he is what you would expect: happy, energetic, excited and little goofy at times. He is learning about toys and loves them so far (right how the tennis ball seems to be a preference).

He would be great with children as he is just a sweet and happy little boy.

His foster is doing a lot of great training work with him including teaching him commands, how to stay calm for treats (see video!), crate training and leash training. He is well on her way to being a very well-behaved pup.

His story: If you follow any of our social media accounts, you will know who he is! He was found with her sibling on the side of the road in Puerto Rico in the rain by one of our team members a few weeks ago. The post went viral and has over 2 million views! Although his rescue story is not unique, he is a mascot for all of the dogs we have found on the side of the road in Puerto Rico who also need homes.
