Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen her with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: DC area foster home

Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure they can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.Velma is Looking For: Her forever home! Velma is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. She is in her prime as an adult dog and hasn't seen enough of the world - she's eager to get her own humans for sniffy walks and romps in parks and all the adventures her family can dream up. Making pup pals along the way would be great, as would going to dog school so she can show how super smart she is.
Most of all, though, she wants to know where she belongs, to be safe and loved all her days. In exchange she promises so much love and loyalty. What do you say? Can you see her by your side?What My Foster Says About Me: Velma is an all-around sweetheart! She loves dogs and people, and does well on walks around the neighborhood where she’s proven to be social and friendly with other dogs and kids. When at home, she plays with toys on her own, does well in her crate and is food motivated. She is a chill girl (even when getting a bath!) and is easy to love.
Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken. All of our dogs are working on their crate training.
