Meet your new best friend Javi!

This adorable 4 year old Chihuahua and Miniature Pinscher mix is just 10 pounds and has a huge personality packed into a tiny body. He is affectionate, loyal, and absolutely devoted to his person. Once he decides you are his human, he wants to be wherever you are, even if that means following you into the bathroom.

He loves attention and affection and would thrive in a home where his person is around often. He enjoys riding in the car and even had his own car seat in his previous home. He also loves going on paddle board adventures and playing in the snow for short bursts. He walks nicely on a leash and is always happy to be included in whatever his person is doing.

At home, he loves his kennel and considers it his safe and comfortable space. Around 9pm each night, he puts himself to bed in his kennel and sleeps peacefully through the night without needing to go outside. He can also stay comfortably in his kennel for several hours during the day.


He is doing well with housetraining, although he has shown some marking behaviors while living with other dogs. We believe some of this may be related to sharing his home and his people with other dogs. He really loves having his person’s attention and prefers not to share, which is why we feel he would be happiest as the only dog in his new home. In the right environment, where he can be someone’s one and only companion, we think he will really thrive.


He has not lived with cats, so we do not know how he would do with them. His experience with children has been limited to children around ages 6 and 10. He was initially shy and barked at them, but eventually warmed up and did well.

He will alert bark when people come to the house or walk by, so he takes his job as a tiny neighborhood watchman seriously. He does not guard his food, although he enjoys hiding his favorite bones and toys in his kennel for safekeeping.

His ideal adopter is someone looking for a devoted little companion and who wants a dog to truly be part of their everyday life. He is not looking to share his person with another dog. He is looking for someone of his very own.
