Ollie Old Man - Chihuahua and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Saugus, Massachusetts

His shelter name was “Old Man.” Which felt a little harsh considering this tiny man is THREE.

So we fixed that. Meet Ollie.

Ollie was surrendered to a municipal shelter along with two other dogs, and shelter life was absolutely terrifying for him. He was so scared and shut down that he ultimately landed on the euthanasia list.

Enter Sarah, resident Chihuahua lover. She saw this 10 lb little nugget and basically said, well obviously he's coming with us. ‍

And just like that, “Old Man” became Ollie and got himself a fresh start.

Ollie is a super cute, shy little Chihuahua mix who just needs a little patience while he figures out that the world isn't quite as scary as it seemed from inside that shelter. He's decompressing, settling in, and getting the chance to show us who he really is.

A Note About Our Bios:

Our bios are based on feedback from each dog's current foster family. Every dog may respond differently as they transition into a new home, so we cannot guarantee how a transition will affect them. Time, patience, and understanding are key when welcoming a new dog. Breed mixes and ages are our best estimates and cannot be guaranteed.

The Chihuahua is a small breed famous for its confidence, loyalty, and big personality, despite its tiny size. Originating from Mexico, these dogs are known for their large, expressive eyes and alert, curious nature. Chihuahuas make excellent companions, forming strong bonds with their owners and displaying a protective nature. They come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, with both long and short coats, making them a diverse and adorable addition to any family.

The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
