Darla was brought into the local municipal shelter as a stray. She did not do well in a noisy kennel environment and was extremely fearful and a bite risk. She was on the euthanasia list when we were asked to help.

Darla has been with us for over 2 months now. She is about 2-3 years old and 12#. Darla will happily meet strangers but has a few quirks. She is the sweetest love bug who enjoys a good ear scratching that she can just lean all the way into! Darla will be your very best friend but it may take a little time for her to love being picked up. We don’t know her history but she is initially weary of that. Darla loves other dogs but prefers they be on the small side. She is a bit leery of bigger dogs. Darla LOVES cats.. but a little too much. She thinks chasing them is fun so we are looking for a no cat home.

Because this girl has some quirks and we don’t know her background, a home with no children under 15 is what we’re looking for. Visiting littles are fine as Darla doesn’t mind being crated or taking a rest away while tiny visitors come over. Darla is potty trained and lives up to the Chihuahua standard! We are looking for a home with a fenced yard for her. If she gets spooked, we aren’t sure she’d return easily.
