Gam Gam - Chihuahua Dog for Adoption in Ramona, California

Gam Gam entered San Diego Humane Society as a stray, and sadly, no one stepped forward to claim her. SDHS reached out for a safe exit for Gam Gam, and we welcomed her as a Frosted Face on June 9th. She is estimated to be 12 years old and weighs 8 lbs. She is understandably shy after all the changes she's been through recently, but she is very sweet!

Gam Gam went on an extended Frosted Fling and received lots of TLC in the comfort of a home while we learned more about this gentle girl. Here's the scoop from her foster mom:

Gam Gam is an incredibly sweet, gentle girl who deserves a loving home where she can finally feel safe. Like many dogs with a difficult past, she needs a little time to trust, but once she does, she's such a rewarding companion.

A few things to know about her:

* She needs time to decompress. Gam Gam was very nervous when she first arrived at her foster home, so she'll need patience as she adjusts. Plan to give her at least three weeks to settle in and let her true personality shine. Once she felt comfortable, she happily slept on the bed and joined me on the couch.
* She loves walks! Exploring outside is one of her favorite things, and she keeps a brisk pace, so be ready to enjoy some great walks together.
* She's calm and quiet. Gam Gam isn't overly demanding for attention, but she enjoys being near her people once she feels secure.
* She has the gentlest soul. There isn't an ounce of meanness in this girl. She is kind, loving, and simply wants to feel safe.
* She's still building confidence. Car rides and being left alone can make her anxious, but she's already shown great progress. With consistency and patience, she continues to improve.

Gam Gam also loved spending time with her canine foster sisters and would likely enjoy having another friendly dog in the home.

If you're willing to look beyond her past and give her the patience she deserves, you'll be rewarded with one of the sweetest companions you could ask for. Gam Gam is absolutely worth it.
