Meet Bob!

Bob is an adorable 7-year-old, 10-pound Chihuahua mix with a big personality hiding inside one tiny little body! This handsome little guy was rescued from a euthanasia list in California, giving him the second chance at life he so deserved. When Bob first arrived at The Asher House, he was extremely shy and unsure of the world around him. While he's gained so much confidence since being here, he can still be very shy when meeting new people and will need a patient, understanding family willing to give him the time and space he needs to feel comfortable. Once he starts coming out of his shell, though, you'll discover that this little guy has quite the personality!

Since arriving at the sanctuary, Bob has made incredible progress! As his confidence has grown, so has his mischievous side. What started as a very timid little Chihuahua has turned into an adorable little troublemaker who keeps our staff laughing and on their toes. Bob may be small, but he certainly knows how to make his presence known!

One thing we've learned about Bob is that he's not afraid to voice his opinions, especially when it comes to other dogs getting a little too excited! Bob does well with other dogs, but he isn't a huge fan of rowdy or overly energetic behavior. In fact, he's been known to appoint himself as the fun police, stepping in to correct his canine friends when he thinks things are getting a little too wild! He would do best with calm, respectful dogs who appreciate a more relaxed environment and can give him space when he needs it.

And don't let his age or tiny size fool you! Bob still has plenty of spunk and can be surprisingly quick on his feet. He's even managed to launch himself right out of his kennel during an especially enthusiastic exit! This little guy definitely has a playful, spirited side that continues to shine as he becomes more comfortable.

Bob would do well in a home with children ages 12 and older who can respect his boundaries and understand that he may need extra time to warm up. His compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

Because Bob can still be nervous around unfamiliar people and situations, his ideal family will be patient, gentle, and committed to helping him continue building his confidence. A calm, predictable home where he can settle in at his own pace would be wonderful for this sweet little guy.

At 7 years old, Bob has already been through so much, but he's proving every day that it's never too late to come out of your shell and discover just how much fun life can be! Beneath that initially shy exterior is a clever, spirited little companion with so much personality just waiting to shine.
