Meet our newest CRT rescue – a puppy we have named Elsie.

Elsie was picked up as a stray in McKinney TX (north of Dallas) by Collin County Animal Control. She had no identification and no family came looking for us. The Animal Shelter reached out to CRT to see if we could help her. We picked her up on Monday, Oct 5th and brought her into our program. You can see our live rescue video from Monday 10/05 on our Facebook page (Chihuahua Rescue & Transport – DFW Region).

Elsie is adorable. She is primarily black and tan with a white heart on her chest! So unique. Her ears are amazing. Our vet estimates her age at 4-6 months and she is 5.5 pounds.

Elise is great with the other dogs in her foster home. She loves her foster family. She loves to run, play and have fun. We are working on her potty training and all the puppy basics. We have only had her a few days but will update her bio as we get to know her more.

Reminder that while puppies are undeniably adorable, they also represent a long-term commitment. Small breed dogs often live 15–20 years, and we’re looking for a family that’s excited to love, guide, and care for this puppy through every stage of life—from playful puppyhood to their senior years.

We adore this little girl, and know there is a perfect family out there for her. If you love to have fun and then cuddle, Elsie wants to be your BFF. Her vet work will be completed in late October, and she will be ready for her forever home at that time. We are accepting applications now.

Adoption Process:

Elsie is being fostered in the Dallas-Fort Worth (Texas) area. Our CRT adoption form can be found at: http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

Note: it works best when our application is filled out on a computer versus a phone or tablet. When it submits correctly, the system will send you a copy. Feel free to email us at DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you need help with the application.

Elsie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on shots, heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention. She is ready to find her forever home – could that be you? We are accepting applications now.

This dog is a CRT rescue. Reference checks, adoption contract and $350.00 adoption donation required.

As part of our mission to reduce the number of unwanted and sick dogs, we require that all current pets are spayed or neutered, current on vaccinations and taking heart worm prevention. Applications will not be considered if one or more of these requirements are not met.

After filling out an adoption application (found at http://www.chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/), please email DFWCoordinator@chihuahua-rescue.com if you are interested in this dog. Please be sure to read about our adoption process and then fill out an adoption application before emailing the contact person.
