Squiggy is a 21⁄2‐year‐old brown Chihuahua weighing about 10 pounds. He and his brother, Lenny, were rescued off the streets of New Orleans. Their finder wanted to help them but was already at their pet limit, so the boys were transferred to us to find a safe, permanent home together.

Squiggy is in good health, just slightly underweight, and has been cleared by our veterinary team. He is very shy and standoffish at first, and he needs to know he's safe before he begins to open up. Once he feels comfortable, his sweet nature shines through -- and he has a silly, charming personality that comes out alongside his brother.

The adoption fee for the bonded pair is $400.

Because we don't observe our animals in home settings, we aren't able to guarantee whether he is housebroken.

Upon intake, every animal receives:

Spay/neuter surgery

Microchip

All age‐appropriate vaccinations

Blood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed)

Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention

A complimentary wellness exam 7-10 days after adoption

Adopters must be at least 21 years old and live within an hour of our facility.

Despite their size, dachshunds are bold and courageous, with a curious nature that can sometimes lead to mischief. Their endearing personality and adaptability make them popular pets worldwide.
