Ernie and Bert are an adorable bonded pair of Chihuahua mixes who are looking for a calm, loving home where they can stay together. Ernie is 21⁄2 years old and weighs 19 pounds, while Bert is 1 year old and weighs 10.9 pounds. These two sweet boys rely on each other for comfort and confidence, and their bond is unmistakable -- where one goes, the other happily follows.
Both boys came to us needing a little extra care. Ernie had cherry eyes and overgrown back dewclaws, all of which have been fully addressed, and he is now healthy and ready for his fresh start (even if he's carrying a few extra "love pounds"). Bert was cleared with no concerns other than having slightly teary eyes, which is common for his breed mix. Our veterinary team has given both dogs a clean bill of health.
Ernie and Bert are very nervous boys at first and will do best in a quieter home environment with patient adopters who can give them time to settle in. Once they feel safe, their sweet, gentle personalities shine through. They also do wonderfully with other dogs their size and enjoy the comfort of canine companionship.
The adoption fee for the pair is $400.
Because we don't observe our animals in home settings, we aren't able to guarantee whether they are housebroken.
Upon intake, every animal receives:
Spay/neuter surgery
Microchip
All age‐appropriate vaccinations
Blood and fecal testing (with treatment if needed)
Flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
A complimentary wellness exam 7-10 days after adoption
Please note that adopters must be at least 21 years old and live within an hour of our facility.
If you'd like to meet Ernie and Bert, we'd be happy to help. They are two tenderhearted boys who find courage in each other -- and they're ready to bring double the sweetness to a patient, loving forever home. 🐾✨
