Rizzo - Chihuahua and Miniature Poodle Dog for Adoption in Concord, North Carolina

Three year old Rizzo is a tiny girl at 11lbs, and she's just as funny as she is funny looking! She's part chihuahua, and her magnificent scruff could come from poodle or yorkie or who knows what-- Rizzo is one of a kind!

Surrendered by a family who simply didn't want her, she's spent several months in a foster home figuring out what it means to be loved.

Rizzo is the best snuggler! She'll lay on your lap for hours and burrow under the covers at night. She also has lots of energy for walks, hikes, play and her favorite thing: sprinting in the yard! She's smart, too. She figured out all the puzzle toys before any other dog and she loves it.

She likes other dogs and would enjoy a small playmate but she wouldn't mind getting all the attention herself. She reads other dogs' signals well and doesn't pester the senior dog in her foster home. She's curious about cats and a little scared of them but coexists with one just fine. Unfortunately she likes the litter box and she can fit anywhere the cat can fit.

Rizzo has shown some resource guarding with high value treats, and a little bit of possessiveness with her new foster mom, but given her background, it's understandable. These things can be improved with training, but she's always going to be a Chihuahua at heart. She needs an adult-only home with patience and appreciation for the unique. She's generally confident and she bonds quickly-- she will be devoted to you for life.

Her funny scruff is just the icing on the cake. This tiny dog is funny, clever, affectionate and up for any adventure.
