Betty - Basset Hound and Australian Shepherd Dog for Adoption in Concord, North Carolina

BETTY

Basset Hound, Australian Shepherd
🇺🇸
Concord, North Carolina
November 3rd
female, medium, young

DESCRIPTION

Betty is a 50/50 basset/miniature Aussie mix (confirmed by DNA test of a sibling) with bright blue eyes and a sweet disposition. She's timid at first but she'll crawl in your lap in no time.

She's great with kids and adults, good with dogs with slow intros (though she may not want to share food) and plays well with the other dog in her home.

Betty is being rehomed because her family has chickens and Betty has an intense prey drive. No cats either, please. Bassets and Aussies are both very strong willed breeds, and Betty's ideal home has some experience with similar breeds/mixes.

Betty is significantly overweight at 30lbs. She's vaccinated and spayed. She's said to be potty trained, but we can't confirm that yet.

Betty's adoption fee is $300.

ABOUT: BASSET HOUND DOG BREED

The Basset Hound is a unique and recognizable breed known for its long body, droopy ears, and soulful eyes. Originating from France, they were originally bred for hunting small game like rabbits due to their keen sense of smell and sturdy build. Despite their laid back and affectionate nature, Basset Hounds are also persistent and independent thinkers, which can make training a bit challenging. With their low energy levels and love for lounging, they make wonderful companion dogs for families seeking a loyal and easygoing pet.
