Alfred *Arriving 8/22* D12137 - Chihuahua and Chinese Crested Dog Dog for Adoption

Alfred is a super friendly, confident pup with plenty of energy and an even bigger personality. He loves to play and is always ready for a game of fetch, a round of chase with another dog, or some good old-fashioned rough and tumble wrestling. He is even a bit of a bitey face champion when playing with his dog friends.

Alfred is still a puppy, so he will need someone ready to work with him on his basic training. He has never been on a leash and does not understand a command for going into his crate yet, although he allows his Texas foster to crate him without a problem. He is energetic and excitable, so there is plenty for this smart, confident boy to learn as he grows.

One of Alfred's best features is his smile. This happy guy has no problem showing you when he is having a good time. As a hairless breed, he also has some specific skincare needs. He currently gets a bath once a week and has coconut oil applied to his skin daily, and he will need someone committed to keeping up with his regular skin care.

Alfred is playful, social, confident, and always ready for fun. He is a happy puppy who will keep his people entertained while they help him learn all the things he still needs to know.

Alfred is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 8/22/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven't arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start's Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start's veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.

Chinese Crested dogs require special care to protect their delicate skin, and their small size makes them a suitable choice for apartment living.
