***Bonded –Hunter & Foxy are bonded and must be adopted together.***
Meet Hunter and Foxy – Hi, we're Hunter and Foxy! We've been together for many years and can't bear to be parted. We're both shy at first but playful and affectionate once we warm up. We are looking for a home where Chihuahuas are understood and there's love enough for two of them!
Hunter – I'm a 10-year-old Chihuahua boy who weighs 3.6 lbs. I love toys and can't get enough of them. I also love adventures especially if they involve a car ride. I'm not crazy about meeting new people but once I find my special person I want to be close to them as much as possible.
Foxy – I'm an 8-year-old Chihuahua girl who weighs 5.9 lbs. While I'm a little shy at first, it doesn't take me long to warm up and turn on the lovin'! I can take or leave toys but I'm smart, curious and enjoy getting to know my people and my home. I do get excited when strangers come by, and that includes any and all cats.
Favorite Things: This pair enjoys time at home with Foxy being the more active one while Hunter quietly plays with his toys (though he's not too keen on sharing). They both love to be close to their humans and prefer to have someone home more often than not.
Training & Manners: Hunter and Foxy are house trained when let out frequently. They'll need more training on leash walking and basic commands but they're both responsive and food motivated. Both sleep in the people bed at night in their foster home.
Health & Care: Hunter and Foxy are up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, spayed/neutered, and recently had dental cleanings. They will both need their monthly flea and heartworm preventatives and Hunter will need to continue pain medications for arthritis at a cost of about $20/month. Neither need professional grooming, just regular baths and nail trims.
Other Animals: Hunter and Foxy have experience with other small dogs but need slow introductions. Neither are a good fit with cats.
Children: These two sweethearts will do best in a home with kind, understanding, older children (ages 8+).
Ideal Home: A single-family home would be ideal for this pair because Foxy will bark to alert you to both strangers and visitors. They can be left alone in the home for a few hours in a secure space.
Overall: If you're looking for a couple of loving companions, Hunter and Foxy might be the ones for you. If you think they might be, visit www.PoodleandPoochRescue.org to fill out an adoption application. If it seems like it could be a good match, their foster family will reach out with more information. The adoption donation for the pair is $300.
