Dusty is a 2-year-old, 13-pound Chihuahua mix with the peculiar magnetism of a tiny creature who appears to know something important and has elected not to elaborate.
He is gentle, affectionate, playful when the occasion merits it, and otherwise an enthusiastic practitioner of strategic loafing. Dusty considers a warm bed one of civilization's major accomplishments and a human lap its most important sequel. He will happily accompany you through the day, not because he suspects you'll do anything interesting, but because your continued supervision has apparently become his portfolio.
There is something wonderfully disarming about him. He's young without being exhausting, devoted without making it a hostage negotiation, and small enough to tuck beside you while somehow possessing the gravitas of a dog who has correspondence.
An older person or couple would be especially lovely for Dusty. Give him an unhurried household, affection in irresponsible quantities, and somewhere soft to install himself, and he will make himself magnificently at home.
Dusty is currently undergoing heartworm treatment, is doing beautifully, and Take Paws Rescue is handling the entire treatment.
He is thirteen pounds of excellent judgment, questionable productivity, and extraordinary sweetness.
A very small dog. A remarkably persuasive argument for staying home.
