Minnie is a 9.5-year-old Chihuahua/Toy Manchester Terrier mix who is just beginning her new chapter in foster care. After being found as a stray in Chicago and never reclaimed, she’s learning what it means to feel safe and loved again. She is a tiny gal at just 5 lbs.

Right now, Minnie is still taking in all the new sights and sounds around her. She can be a little nervous, especially around other dogs, but she’s handling everything better each day. She seems to do well with cats, but young children are a bit too overwhelming for her, so she would do best in a quiet, adult-only home.

Once she feels comfortable, Minnie’s sweet personality starts to shine. She loves to snuggle, especially if she can burrow under a cozy blanket, and she enjoys peaceful time outside in a fenced yard—taking in all the smells of the grass and spring flowers.

Minnie is crate trained and thrives in a calm, predictable environment. She is shy at first and will need a patient adopter who can give her the time and space to come out of her shell at her own pace. But for the right person, Minnie will be a deeply loyal and loving companion.
