Domestic Long Hair Cats Available for Adoption in Barrington, Illinois

Because we are all volunteers, Illinois Doberman Rescue Plus only considers approved applicants to meet our orphans in our foster homes. The adoption fee includes vet exam, FIV/FeLV test, age-appropriate spay/neuter through IDR+ approved vet, age-appropriate vaccinations, fecal test, flea and ear mite check, and microchip. Portobello is a long-haired tabby born in August 2025 who’s a really nice mix of affectionate and playful. He genuinely likes being held and will often come looking for attention and cuddles when you’re around. When he’s not doing that, he’s usually playing or checking out whatever is going on in the house.

He’s currently living with other cats and a cat-friendly dog and has done well with both. He’s litter box trained and settling into home life easily, and he’d likely do best in a home that wants a social, interactive cat rather than one that keeps to himself.
