Chihuahua and Pug Dogs Available for Adoption in Amarillo, Texas

Jimmie is a small breed puppy believed to be a Chihuahua mix, possibly with Pug, Dachshund, or other small breeds. She was found after being dumped along Route 335 heading toward Fritch Hwy in Texas (will soon be in PA). and tested positive for parvo shortly after intake. After receiving veterinary care including fluids, medication, and close monitoring, she made a full recovery and has completed her quarantine and treatment period.

Jimmie is currently approximately 12 to 14 weeks old and weighs around 8 pounds. Based on her size and build, we expect she will remain small as an adult, likely under 25 pounds, with an estimated range of 14 to 18 pounds, though this cannot be guaranteed.

She is a playful, spirited puppy who enjoys other dogs and does well with cats. She is also good with children, however due to her small size we recommend a home with older or dog experienced children, approximately 9 to 12 years and up, or a home without young children.

Jimmie is currently working on house training, crate training, and leash training. She is doing well but will require continued consistency, structure, and patience as she grows. She is still very young and will need frequent potty breaks and ongoing training. She has a full set of puppy teeth and will benefit from appropriate chew toys and guidance.

Jimmie is fully vetted. She has been spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and has been cleared for adoption by a licensed veterinarian.
