DESCRIPTION

Meet Jitter !! (Again )
Please read the entire post!!! He’s adorable but he’s not a lap dog and needs a very active home.
Sweet Jitter was adopted from us over a year ago. The family was adamant they would never rehome him and he would always be a member of their family. They had rehomed two dogs prior during covid and assured us it was a fluke hardship situation. We decided to trust them and sadly we were wrong.
Due to “Life Changes” (the constant excuse we always hear), Jitter is now discarded like their last two dogs. This was not a hardship, it was just a choice not to include him in their new plans. It's so disheartening that people can't be honest with us or themselves. He didn't deserve to be used as a temporary pet and bounced around again.
Despite being betrayed by yet another family this guy is so sweet and ready to love again. He’s a very active, fun and high energy little guy. He is a happy goofy boy looking for someone to return his loyality.
Jitter is a Male, 2 year old, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. He will be 3 in December. He weighs 16 pounds and is full grown.
He is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. He is Heartworm negative. His previous adopter sadly shaved him down when that's not needed for his breed. Thankfully his beautiful coat is growing back in. (Pics of his full coat before included in post)
Jitter is a whole lot of dog in a small package. He is a social and happy guy. He loves everyone. He’s outgoing and down for any adventure. He’s great going to places like flea markets or breweries. He loves the attention.
He does very well with leash walking using a harness. He pulls some when excited, but he absolutely loves going on walks. He did great on car rides. He is also crate trained. He has done excellent with his potty training. He also did very well with the vet. Overall he listens well and is great with his house manners.
Jitter is not fostered with kids but previously lived with kids age 6 and 9, and was said to do good with them. He can be an excited jumper so that may scare small kids. He has lived with cats but we dont recommend him in a home with cats. He chases the cats a lot. He never hurt them but your cats will likely not enjoy him much.
He has done well with other dogs of all sizes. He can be a bit much around other dogs at times due to his energy but generally he does well. He is a touch bossy with other males and prefers to be the top male but its not excessive. He would be fine as the only dog or with other dogs to play with. He is happy either way.
He loves playing with all kinds of toys and chew bones. He has really good recall outside; when he’s running around, you can call him, and he’ll come running back. He will however take off after a squirrel and can jump very high when he is in pursuit. He otherwise has no desire to leave where you are. He definitely wants to be with you and in your line of sight at all times.
Jitter does have a very high energy level and needs a place to run and play several times a day. Due to this a fully fenced yard is required. He is on the go a lot and does a lot of moving around but also has a very cuddly side. If he has had proper exercise, he will chill with you when you sit down. He isn't really a lap dog but has that cuddly side when he's tired.
If you don’t give him the energy release he needs he has issues behaving. He needs physical exercise but also mental stimulation such as games, walks, training sessions, and anything that gets his brain tired. Please understand that we are telling you up front that he’s high energy. Please don’t adopt him unless you truly can provide the right type of home for him. He doesn’t need to be bounced around from home to home due to people not picking the right dog for their lifestyle.
He’s had no trouble sharing food, treats or toys with people. If he is really into chewing on a toy or bone he will growl and snap if another dog tries to take a bone or toy from him. He can happily sit beside other dogs and take treats. He takes treats very gently from you and has never shown any aggression toward people over anything.
Overall he is a wonderful dog for a fun loving family. He’s extremely smart and loving. He is incredibly happy and loves meeting new people and going on outings. He has so much potential in the right home. If you can meet his needs you’ll have a fun, loving and loyal companion.
Vet and home checks required.
Fenced yard required. 5ft or higher.
Located in Hampton VA.
(He will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius)
