Meet Kookaburra - Your Little Adventure Buddy in the Making
Kookaburra may be little, but she has a heart full of love just waiting to share. This adorable 3-year-old spayed Mini Australian Shepherd weighs just 22 pounds and is the perfect pocket-sized companion for someone looking for a sweet, gentle best friend.
Kookaburra arrived at the shelter as a stray after being left in the overnight drop box, but she's ready to leave that chapter behind and start the life she's always deserved.
She has a calm, dainty personality and has been growing more confident every day. As she's settled in, she's started happily walking around, greeting people with sweet tail wags, and seeking out gentle pets and affection. Once she gets to know you, her loving personality really begins to shine.
One thing we've learned about Kookaburra is that she absolutely enjoys the company of other dogs. Her brother has helped her come out of her shell, and we think she would truly benefit from having another friendly, confident dog in the home to continue showing her that the world is a wonderful place. She loves having a canine companion by her side and gains confidence from their friendship.
She's also learning that walks can be fun and is making progress with her leash skills every day. With a little patience and encouragement, she'll continue blossoming into an amazing companion.
We can already picture Kookaburra embracing Colorado life-exploring peaceful trails, enjoying crisp mountain mornings, relaxing in a sunny backyard with her canine best friend, and ending each day curled up on a cozy bed with the family who loves her.
Kookaburra isn't looking for anything extravagant. She simply wants a home where she can be loved, cherished, spoiled, and safe, with kind people, a dog friend to share adventures with, and a lifetime of happy memories waiting to be made.

We are a foster-based rescue and generally do not have animals at our office, and not all animals attend adoption events. To coordinate a meet and greet with a specific animal please contact us!
We can only finalize adoptions at events for approved adopters. The earlier you apply, the better, it takes time to review and approve applications!
We host adoption events almost every Saturday from *11:00 AM to 2:00 PM* around the Fort Collins community!
