Yardley - Cattle Dog and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Ellicott City, Maryland

Yardley is a sweet, cuddly, wiggly girl who really enjoys being with people. She also has a pretty distinctive feature: the markings on her chest form a perfect little star.

She can be nervous when she first meets a new dog, but she usually warms up quickly. At first, she wasn’t quite sure how to play appropriately with bigger dogs. She’s been learning and has gotten much better at reading other dogs and being a more appropriate playmate.

Yardley loves being outside and investigating everything around her. She’ll explore the acorns, sniff around the yard, and crawl underneath bushes to see what’s there.

She likes her toys, is learning to sit, eats well, and sleeps through the night. She’s also making good progress with potty training.

Like the rest of her litter, Yardley is an active, energetic puppy. She’s curious, busy, affectionate, and still learning how the world works.

The Y litter came to us from our rescue partner in West Virginia.

The more information you provide, the faster the process is for all of us. Once you are approved to adopt, we will schedule an appointment to see the puppy in person and you will adopt and take it home that day.

Due to the (usual) speed and ease of our adoption process, PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF YOU ARE READY TO ADOPT RIGHT NOW. If you are not ready to adopt within the next couple of days, we totally understand - just wait to apply until you are ready.

Adoption Fees:

Before our dogs are available for adoption, they will always be spayed/neutered, vaccinated (Distemper, Parvovirus, Bordetella, Rabies as much as age-appropriate), stool sample checked for parasites, and dewormed.

Adoption fee for our dogs is $375, $40 for a microchip and registration and $25 for a 3 month supply of heartworm preventative, for a TOTAL of $440.

The Cattle Dog is a diligent and robust herding breed known for its agility, intelligence, and hardworking nature. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
