Poppy's story started when she was abandoned at a rural Georgia truck stop, where she patiently waited and waited for the people she loved to come back for her... but sadly, no one ever returned. Thankfully, Poppy's story didn't end there — because this sweet girl is now ready to find the forever family she truly deserves.
Poppy is a sweet medium-sized gal who obviously once belonged to someone because she is well-mannered and very friendly. She also has spent time in a foster home with small children. This lovely lady has a nice medium energy level, and she gets along wonderfully with other dogs, so she would likely enjoy having a canine buddy in her forever home.
We have learned that Poppy tested positive for heartworm, but no worries, with treatment provided by K-9 Lifesavers, she'll be feeling fine in no time. What Poppy wants most is simple: a safe place to land, a family who won't leave her behind, and a lifetime of love to make up for the one she lost. Your new pet will require a refresher in house-training. K-9 Lifesavers strongly recommends all new adopters enroll their new pet into obedience training. This provides for an easier transition into a new home, ensures the dog remains well socialized, and helps form a bond between the dog and the new family.

Adoption fees cover basic vetting, rabies (if puppy is old enough), distemper/parvo vaccinations, deworming, monthly heartworm prevention while in our care (if old enough), monthly flea/tick prevention while in our care, and transport costs. K-9 Lifesavers will also cover the cost of spay/neuter at our partner vet at 6 months of age or reimburse adopter for up to the amount of our partner vet cost should you choose to spay/neuter at your own vet.
