Catahoula Leopard Dog, Mixed Breed
🇺🇸
Richmond, California
August 21st
female, medium, adult
DESCRIPTION
From nose to toes and tail, this darling gal is so colorful, even one eye is multicolored! Lulu is definitely a dog that needs a patient, easy going lifestyle, at least initially she needs confidence building and security. Shy and insecure she'd like to first get comfortable in a home environment with a secure yard would be easiest and minimal urban activities/noises, she is very sensitive.
Potentially a flight risk at first so younger children and a door to the street not ideal. She just needs some time.
She is already improving on leash, and fairly soon she will be ready to join you on hikes and country adventures, she's a Central Valley, rural girl so the city, the beach and other new experiences will likely be a bit overwhelming for her but with love and encouragement once she has mastered her new lifestyle she will become a willing and happy life partner!!
ABOUT: CATAHOULA LEOPARD DOG DOG BREED
The Catahoula Leopard Dog, a unique and versatile breed originally from Louisiana, is known for its striking coat patterns resembling a leopard. These dogs are esteemed for their intelligence, loyalty, and exceptional working abilities. With a strong instinct for herding and tracking, they excel in diverse roles such as hunting, herding, and search and rescue. Renowned for their protective nature and affection towards their families, Catahoula Leopard Dogs make devoted companions for owners committed to providing them with proper training and stimulation.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
