DESCRIPTION
They say everything Midas touches turns to gold. In this case, we think it's hearts. A year and a half old, Midas survived months abandoned in a barn with other dogs, with little access to food and water. Somehow, this boy came out of it still believing that people are the BEST THING EVER (and fine with cats too!)
And now? Midas is making up for lost time.
He's goofy, affectionate, playful and happiest when he's with his people. After spending so long wondering when someone would come back, Midas has some understandable separation anxiety. He is a climber. If there's a fence between Midas and the humans he loves, he may consider that fence more of a suggestion than a boundary.
Midas does well with calmer dogs of all sizes when introductions are taken slowly, and we actually think he'd love having a canine sibling to keep him company and show him that home means nobody is leaving him behind. He doesn't need someone to feel sorry for him. He needs someone who sees the happy, ridiculous, loving dog he is now-and is ready to convince him that this time, his people are staying. Midas spent months waiting for someone to come back. Maybe you're the person he was waiting for.
Apply to adopt Midas at lucky13rescue.org. Midas' adoption fee is $225 and includes vaccinations, dewormer, heartworm medication, microchip and neuter surgery.
ABOUT: CATAHOULA LEOPARD DOG DOG BREED
The Catahoula Leopard Dog, a unique and versatile breed originally from Louisiana, is known for its striking coat patterns resembling a leopard. These dogs are esteemed for their intelligence, loyalty, and exceptional working abilities. With a strong instinct for herding and tracking, they excel in diverse roles such as hunting, herding, and search and rescue. Renowned for their protective nature and affection towards their families, Catahoula Leopard Dogs make devoted companions for owners committed to providing them with proper training and stimulation.
The mixed breed dogs, often referred to as mutts, are a diverse and unique group with a blend of different characteristics from various purebred dog breeds. These dogs come from a mixture of lineages, resulting in a wide range of sizes, coat types, and temperaments. While each mixed breed dog is distinct in its own right, they are known for their resilience, adaptability, and often have fewer health issues compared to purebred dogs due to their genetic diversity. Mixed breed dogs make wonderful companions for families looking for a loyal and one-of-a-kind pet.
